Jacob is also remembered on a statue of Queen Victoria in Tynemouth which reads:
"Erected by public subscription to the memory of our late beloved Queen Victoria by the inhabitants of the Borough of Tynemouth during the Mayoralty of Alderman Daglish J.P. 1901-02 and unveiled by the Mayoress October 25th 1902".
Jacob was a brewer and had founded Duncan & Daglish, the Newcastle brewers and wine and spirit merchants. There is more information about Jacob Daglish and the company below - see article posted on 3 March 2007.

Hi Stephen. I have another different coronation medal. It is gold and has King Edward and Queen Alexandra on the back facing left and on the front is a crest of some sort. It is in its original box and ribbon. Can you help in finding out how much it is worth? Cheers!
ReplyDeleteDid you have any luck ? What colour was the ribbon ?

DeleteDifficult to estimate value without other details, but the box and ribbons should add value. Many of these medals come up for sale on e-bay, so you could do a search there for "1902 Coronation Medal". There are currently many listed. Hope this helps. With best, wishes, Stephen.
